Can I love or is it just an illusion?

If you are a "nice" human being with a clear conscience and (are not likely to be, but at least) fully understand what it's like to be selfless at times. If you can comprehend how or why a mother happily gives out even her heart to save her dying child. If you can envisage what a father won't do to feed and protect his family. If you can feel that peculiar connection between siblings, often irksome but benevolent. If you know why a soldier leaves his home, his family and children, hoping that his life could be worth something for his country.  If you feel the pain and trauma of a cancer patient, that feeling of desolation and helplessness that engenders by the fact that life is very fragile and there's only much that one can do  to escape pain. Then my friend, you have a very beautiful heart, filled with empathy and kindness, and you are capable of truly loving someone.

Unconditional Love is that unrequited love that doesn't depend on the mutual exchange of words, feelings, or physical entities. A love that is free from all grime, and scum. If you love someone selflessly, you may even need let them go, for their good. We just never let go of the care for them, just learn to live without them.
